STEAM!!!!

And we are on STEAM

Glen once more, developer behind Shiny Gauntlet and I’d like to introduce you to the Thief.

The Thief deals the highest potential damage of start 5 classes, with her sky high CRIT stat and moderate LUCK. Unfortunately she posses the lowest range.

CRIT is added to your STR stat when you score a ‘critical hit’, with your chances of scoring a critical hit are dependent on your LUCK stat . The higher your LUCK the higher your chances are to score a critical hit.

The Thief also possesses the ability to 'Vanish’, which hides her from most enemies. In addition to this, it guarantees that her next attack will be a 'critical hit’.

Her class ring (Thief’s Ring) further boosts her chances to deal massive damage by boosting her LUCK equal to the amount of gold coins she has picked up.

Her play style involves nimbly dodging projectiles and lining up that one perfect shot, ending her enemies in a single blow!

Glen again, developer behind Shiny Gauntlet and I’d like to introduce you to the Priest.

The Priest is the all round weakest of the 5 starting classes with no outstanding stats and the lowest stamina out of the bunch.

However, The priests has access to the coveted ‘Be Healed’ ability, which allows him to recover HP in a pinch.

His class ring (Priest’s Ring) boosts all healing effects as well ensuring that he can stay in the fight for the long haul.

His play style involves grabbing for all the stat charms you can. Don’t be afraid to trade in your ring for a more beneficial one!

Hey Everyone!

Glen again, developer behind Shiny Gauntlet and I’d like to introduce you to the Warrior.

The Warrior is the strongest of the 5 starting classes. Marked by High Strength and High Max Armor (DEF).

Armor is used to mitigate damage in Shiny Gauntlet. However, Instead of reducing incoming damage by some fixed amount, Armor mitigates an instance of damage completely and reduces its count by 1. This is pretty useful for characters who start with low health. ( A few monsters can by pass armor either by piercing damage or by poison)

The warrior’s ability is ‘Armor Up!’ which increases his Armor stat equal to his level ( 1 for level 1, 2 for level 2, and so on.) Additionally he has a higher Armor cap when compared to the other classes. His low stamina means that you need to stop to eat often if you want to use this ability to its fullest.

His play style involves preparing for battle by “Armoring up”, charging in and laying waste to any enemies in his way. His class ring (Warrior’s Ring) buffs his strength equal to his current Armor stat ensuring that his foes don’t last long.

SHINY GAUNTLET HAS BEEN RELEASED!!!!
The game is on Steam Green Light and has just been released on Humble Bundle and Itch.io.

Hey Everyone!

Glen here, developer behind Shiny Gauntlet and I’d like to introduce you to the Mage.

The Mage is the spell caster of the five starting classes. She is unique in that she starts with the Highest LUCK.

This is important as magic damage (as done by her special ability: Cardinal Magic) is calculated as Level* LUCK and allows her to make up for her abysmal STR stat.

Her play style involves careful positioning and frequent use of her Cardinal Magic attack.  Her class ring (Mage’s Ring) assists with this by reducing the amount of stamina it costs to use her abilities by ½.

Playable builds for v0.42 are up HERE

Hey Everyone!  I know its been a while since the last update but the project is still going strong!

One of the difficulties I have at this stage of development is that experimentation tends to yield truly broken builds … so weekly (or monthly ) playable updates has become unfeasible.

Good News though!  I’ve pinned down the feature list and started focusing on polish.  The intention is to release Shiny Gauntlet for October (no firm date as of yet). This means weekly playable builds once more!

Huzzah!
